The idea for AL2LA came from a very dark time when Robert suffered a mental health episode. Over a period of 48 hours, Robert seriously considered taking his life. This is not a unique event for many veterans transitioning to civilian life. Robert knew he had to do something to help- and AL2LA was born. Robert retired as Chief Petty Officer at the Juneau, Alaska Coast Guard Base.
